Edna ISD:  Offering small town values while preparing students for global expectations.

Welcome to the 2015-2016 school year at Edna ISD. We are even more determined and excited for all of us to work towards Improving the Brand this school year by focusing on this year’s theme of “Cowboy Up”.  As a district we will all strive to “UP” our game in all facets of academics and extracurricular activities. We have an excellent staff who are ready to move forward and upward. The expectations for the Cowboys and Cowgirls are higher than ever and they have the school and community support to reach new levels.

We are excited to bring the AVID program to both the High School and Junior High as we look for ways to increase academic expectations and raise standards. AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) is designed to increase the number of students who graduate designated as college ready by increasing rigor and targeting our middle group performance which therefore raises the performance of the whole group. We feel this will be a huge asset and excellent program to help our students achieve success in the classroom and in real life as we work on organizational, communication, and study skills.

Encourage your student(s) to find a hobby, club, activity, or sport to get involved in and hopefully gain a sense of accomplishment and teamwork that only comes through taking advantage of the opportunities life gives us to be involved and compete. Instilling a sense of accomplishment and a work ethic produces results in the arena of life. We live in a great, supportive community that endorses the district in a wide array of endeavors. The facility improvements at the stadium and the pending renovation of the auditorium are excellent examples of the overwhelming community support that is enjoyed by Edna ISD. A big thank you to all of the donors and sponsors as well as the Board of Education who together made all of this possible.

Welcome to the Cowboy Nation and Go Big Blue!
