or type: ees.thecontrolpoint.comWe are happy to announce we are completing our transition into utilizing Control Point, a student dismissal program for the 22-23 school year during the month of September.
Due to complications with scanners reading through screen protectors, EES has provided families with a preprinted, green dismissal card on Friday, September 2nd. The green cardstock has proven to be more efficient and therefore, benefiting the efficiency of our dismissal process. Please continue to have your child’s green dismissal card ready as you pull up towards one of our two scanners. If you need additional cards printed for new individuals added to your student's account or perhaps yours was folded and damaged, please contact the front office and we'll be happy to have one ready for pick up or can send one home that afternoon!
When making a change to your student's afternoon transportation within the Control Point program (ees.thecontrolpoint.com), be sure to click "Send a note to school" box once complete. This will ensure the transportation change is communicated to the campus. Once the campus is notified, all changes will be made and communicated with the teachers and students through the office to ensure a safe transition home. *See image below.
Don't have an account? Contact EES at 361-782-2953 to get set up! All you'll need to share is an active email address. Once the front office has created an account for you, you'll receive an activation email immediately after. Once activated, you can create/edit/suspend/delete a dismissal card for each individual that picks up your student(s), assign their form of transportation, and notify the school of any future changes through your account. The EES Team wants to thank you all for your continued support and cooperation as we transition into a safer dismissal this school year.To register your child, contact Michelle at 361.575.0511 ext. 230 or email mcavazos@ymcavictoria.org

EES 2022-2023
Accelerated Reader (AR) Program
The Accelerated Reader Program is a reading program designed to encourage Edna ISD students to practice reading skills and strategies learned in the classroom. Students are encouraged to choose books of their interest and that are within their reading level. After they have read the book, students then take a comprehension test over the book on a computer on campus. Students will be given the opportunity to read and test before school or throughout the day. However, please encourage your child to read at home as well! Each grade level is encouraged to reach a certain number of AR points for each 6 week period to attend the AR Party for that grading period. In addition, Semester 1 and 2 field trips are planned for the top 25 students in each grade level who reach their goals every 6 weeks.
Please feel free to contact your child’s reading teacher with any questions throughout the year.
