     Art - Miss Whitehead

    WELCOME TO MY WORLD

Overview:   My goal is to make each student a creative individual who uses their imagination and skills of the elements to communicate a visual form.  As an art teacher, I strive to provide my students with fun and educational experiences where each student can be creative, thoughtful and confident. My classroom offers a positive atmosphere that encourages uniqueness and imagination. Have Fun! That is what art is all about. I want to make this a learning experience that will allow students to develop the skills and desire to continue making art for the rest of their life.

    EXPECTATIONS

You have to have a passing grade in Art to participate in sports.

Art is an elective and follows the U.I.L. No Pass No Play rule.

Come to class prepared, on time, with required materials, pay attention, follow directions and stay on task.

Label all work clearly with first name, last name and period on the top left corner. All artwork should include the same information on the back top left corner. Work with no name on it will go in the trash.

Your work goes in your portfolio not on the cabinet.

Act in a mature and responsible way.

    NO HORSEPLAYING OR SWEARING.

Clean up after yourself at the end of class. Put your work inside your portfolio and return materials/supplies to correct storage place. When your area is clean go back to your assigned seat and wait for me to dismiss you.

Disciplinary actions will be taken if you make excessive messes, refuse to clean up along with negative/disruptive behavior.  The consequences for this kind of behavior will be given an alternate  assignment out of the art book.

Discrimination or any hateful/negative language will not be tolerated.

The art room is a place of mutual respect. I expect you to treat your peers, your teacher (whether a substitute or me), and yourself with the highest level of respect.  Please be polite and do not put down your artwork or the artwork of your classmates.

If appropriate behavior becomes a challenge for you, we will meet to find a solution. If necessary, we will include parents/guardians and administrators.

CLASS DISMISSAL – I will dismiss the class – not the bell.
