    About the Board of Trustees

    The Board of Trustees consists of seven members elected to serve, without compensation, for overlapping terms of three years each. Elections are conducted in May. While candidates run for specific places, they do represent 7 single member districts specific geographical areas. Following the election, the board elects a president, vice-president and secretary to serve for one-year terms.

    The next board of trustee election is scheduled for May 6, 2023 Places up for election will be Place 5 and Place 7

    The school district and other municipalities will share in the cost.

    Order of Cancellation


    Terms and Election Schedule

    Board members shall be elected for three-year terms, with elections conducted annually, as follows:

    Place 1, 2, and 4
    The election for single-member Places 1, 2, and 4 shall be held in 2021, 2024, 2027 and in three-year intervals thereafter.

    Place 3 and 6
    The election for single-member places 3 and 6 shall be held in 2022, 2025, 2028 and in three-year intervals thereafter.

    Place 5 and 7
    The election for single-member places 5 and 7 shall be held in 2023, 2026, 2029 and in three-year intervals thereafter.


    Application Process

    The next Edna ISD School Board Election will be held May 6, 2023.  Board candidate packets will be available beginning January 18, 2023, at the Edna ISD Administration Building, 601 N. Wells St. Edna, Texas.  The last day to file for a place on the ballot will be February 17, 2023.  Contact Edna ISD Administration for more information.

    The next Trustees election for the Edna ISD Board is scheduled to be held on May 6, 2023 in Edna, Texas.



    Applications for a place on the Edna Independent School District Regular Election ballot may be filed beginning January 18, 2023 and ending at 5:00 PM on February 17, 2023.

    Edna ISD residents interested in running for the School Board may pick up a candidate application packet from the Edna ISD Administration office located at 601 N. Wells, Edna, Texas beginning January 18, 2023.

    The filing period for a place on the May 6, 2023 ballot is Wednesday, January 18, 2023, through Friday, February 17, 2023. If interested, please drop off your completed packet at the Edna ISD Administration Office during this time period.
