The Edna ISD Board of Trustees met on June 15 to celebrate student success, review district progress, and plan for the 2026-2027 school year. Highlights included:
✅ Recognition of State UIL Academic and Track Team members
🎓 Celebration of Edna Alternative School graduate Raul Almaguer

💙 Employee recognition for perfect attendance
💵 Consideration of donations and quarterly investment reports. A huge thank you to those who made donations to the students of Edna ISD. $500 to EHS Fellowship of Christian Athletes from Knights of Columbus & $940 to Edna Ag Mech from Edna Education Foundation.
👩🏫 Review and approval of proposed 2026-2027 salary schedules and stipends for teachers, counselors, nurses, paraprofessionals, maintenance staff, coaches, and support personnel
🤝 Discussion of personnel recommendations for the upcoming school year

We are about to begin the process of replacing the track here at Cowboy Memorial Stadium. The company is wrapping up another job and should arrive in Edna any day now. Change can be tough and oftentimes, it is stressful as well.
When I arrived in Edna in mid-February, I did not know anyone. I leave here with some superb memories and many new friends.
Whether I was in a restaurant, at a ball game, or band concert, you, the community, were very welcoming and supportive. I met total strangers who thanked me “for stepping in” and helping the district. Numerous times, I was invited into your homes for supper…..incredible! Your friendliness and sincerity has moved me and put an indelible mark in my soul.
I was proud to be a Cowboy, even if just for a few months.

Parents may start checking students out early if they choose due to widespread power outages. Buses will run at the normal scheduled time.
A mix of emotions filled the halls this morning as our graduating seniors took one final walk through the elementary campus — this time alongside our graduating kindergarteners. 💙🎓
For the seniors, it was a chance to reflect on how far they’ve come. For the kindergarteners, it was a glimpse into the journey ahead. One chapter is ending, while another is just beginning.

Due to weather concerns, Edna ISD will move the Class of 2026 Graduation Ceremony to the Brackenridge Main Event Center located at 284 Brackenridge Parkway.
Graduation will still begin at 8:00 PM on Friday evening.
Moving the ceremony indoors will allow us to provide approximately the same amount of seating as our stadium venue, which means tickets will NOT be required for graduates or guests. Doors will open at 7:00 PM, and seating will be first-come, first-served. Seats will not be reserved.
Graduates will be transported by bus to Brackenridge from the high school for practice at 9:00 AM on Friday. Seniors should report to the Dome Gym on Friday evening at 6:30 PM, where buses will transport students to the ceremony location.
The graduation ceremony will also continue to be live-streamed for those unable to attend in person.
We appreciate everyone’s understanding and flexibility as we work to provide the best possible graduation experience for the Class of 2026.
