📚 Academic Updates
The Board received academic reports from our campuses, reviewed beginning-of-the-year assessment information, and heard an update on the Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) program.

The Board unanimously approved the reappointment of William Alex to the Appraisal District Board of Directors for a two-year term beginning January 1, 2027.

The Edna Cross Country Team competed their hearts out at the District meet this morning!!🤩💪
The Varsity Cowgirls are the District 24-3A CHAMPIONS and Regional Bound!!
The team consist of Paisley Longoria who placed 3rd, Emma Shoemate 4th, Luna Estrello 7th, Yoselin Calzada-Alba 8th, Maggie Sklar 9th, Ailani Ramirez 11th and Piper Loggans 18th!! A great TEAM effort by all!!
JV Cowboy Eamon Heald placed 8th!!

The Edna ISD Board of Trustees met for its Regular Meeting on Monday, September 21. During the meeting, the Board received the Business Office Report and reviewed the district’s Emergency Operations Plan and Board member training requirements through the State Board of Education.

Meeting highlights included:
🔹 Approved the August 17, 2026, Board Meeting minutes, bills paid, donations, a budget amendment, and the Quarterly Investment Report.
🔹 Approved an update to the 2026–2027 Academic Calendar, designating December 9, 2026, as a half-day to accommodate UIL Academic Meets.
🔹 Approved SB 12 compliance policies and procedures.
🔹 Approved the purchase of a new school bus through the BuyBoard Purchasing Cooperative. Edna ISD budgets annually for the replacement of one school bus to help maintain a safe and reliable fleet.
🔹 Approved the purchase of a new Chevrolet Suburban through the BuyBoard Purchasing Cooperative, as budgeted, to replace an aging district vehicle that was no longer reliable.
🔹 Approved the Annual Investment Report.
