Today we’re celebrating the incredible professionals who dig into data, unravel problems, and find the answers that help our students succeed! 📚🔍
Whether it’s identifying learning needs, guiding instruction, or collaborating with teachers and families — our diagnosticians play a vital role in making education work for every learner.
💙 Thank you for your expertise, your patience, and your heart for students!

Our 8th Grade Lady Rustlers shattered two long-standing school records that had stood since 1992! ✨
Paisley Longoria broke the 800m record with an incredible time of 2:27.85. ✨
The 4x400 relay team of Kora Koop, Luna Estrello, Paisley Longoria, and Kerrigan Rodas set a new school record with a blazing 4:20.23.
Records that stood for 33 years are officially rewritten. We are so proud of these Lady Rustlers for their hard work and determination!

Edna ISD is proud to share that Lisa has been named the Property Casualty Alliance of Texas (PCAT) Bus Driver of the Year!
Lisa goes above and beyond each day to ensure our students arrive safely and feel welcomed and cared for. A bus driver is often the first and last school representative a child sees each day, and Lisa’s kindness, professionalism, and dedication truly make a difference.
We are grateful for her commitment to safety and her positive impact on our students and families.
Join us in congratulating Lisa on this well-deserved honor! 🚌⭐

Edna ISD invites our staff and community members to participate in upcoming Community Involvement Sessions to help gather feedback as part of the Superintendent Search process. Your input is important!

Huge congrats to our boys singles players for taking over the championship round yesterday. Braden Watkins brings home the 🥇 and Mac Oyler finishes with the 🥈. Way to represent!

The Edna Independent School District (ISD) Board of Trustees has employed Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) Executive Search Services to assist with the search for a new superintendent. The Board has requested that school personnel and the public be involved in developing a profile of the leadership qualities desired of the person the Board should seek to become the new superintendent.

The Edna ISD Board of Trustees met last night to select a superintendent search firm. The board heard presentations from three different search firms. The board chose the Texas Association of School Boards...aka TASB to lead their search. The board and TASB put together a preliminary timeline for the process. There are many variables, but if the process is fluid, Edna ISD will have their next sitting superintendent in late May. In a later post/email, I will explain the process that all 1,100+ school districts in Texas are mandated to follow.
One more item: the board wants your feedback on the qualities you want in your new superintendent. There will be opportunities both in person and online for you to share your input. We will saturate you with that info as that window approaches.
Thank you for your support,
Bill Boyd

Edna ISD Board Meeting Recap – February 16, 2026
The Edna ISD Board of Trustees held its regular meeting on February 16, 2026, with a strong focus on student outcomes, school safety, planning, and campus celebrations.
________________________________________
🎯 Focus on Student Success: Lone Star Governance
The Board continues its work with Lone Star Governance (LSG), a Texas Education Agency (TEA) research-based continuous improvement model. LSG helps align the board and superintendent around one primary goal: improving student outcomes. Through structured goal-setting, progress monitoring, and clear constraints, this work ensures every decision supports student achievement.
________________________________________
🛡 School Safety & Instructional Planning
The Board addressed a TEA intruder detection audit finding and reviewed the district’s corrective action plan to ensure campuses remain safe and secure.
Trustees also approved the 2026–2027 Certification of Instructional Materials Survey, which verifies that students have materials aligned to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS). This certification allows Edna ISD access to the Instructional Materials Allotment (IMA)—state funding used to purchase textbooks, digital resources, and related technology.
